Spirits are the mana counterpart to the Moss family, and are among the weakest monsters available.

Spirits act as the mana counterpart to Mosses, possessing virtually the same AI; if they hit a wall, they will move in another cardinal direction. While doing so, they consume and circulate mana. Thus, it's possible to build dungeons based around doing this efficiently, which is key in spawning Liliths and Dragons. Spirits almost always maintain the same HP, DEF, and RES as they level up and mutate. However, their offensive properties will change.

Abnormal Breeds of Spirits, known as Stunners, deal reduced damage in exchange for a chance of inflicting paralysis on a hero, allowing for extra hits. Giant Breeds, known as Big Spirits, are slower, but will distribute more mana than usual, and possess better ATK stats. Rare Breeds, known as Beryllions (or Cosmos, according to the Almanac entry in What Did I Do to Deserve This, My Lord!? 2), are spawned through having 200+ Spirits in a dungeon and will launch kamikaze-style attacks, distributing their mana after colliding and dying against a hero.

Unlike Mosses, Spirits do not go through any stages of growth, remaining as they were when they spawned. Without an "adult" stage, they instead reproduce through splitting apart. They are also even weaker offensively outside of the Rare Breeds, which use a kamikaze attack. Spirits are also capable of possessing various things to increase their mana, such as corpses to make Skeleslaves or Magic Mandrakes or runes to help make stronger runeborn monsters.

Yu-Nama: The Puzzle and related[]

Spirits are Level 1 green monsters; unlike Mosses, they do not change forms when reaching max level. When combined, they make Level 2 blue monsters, such as Omnoms. They also possess higher Attack than all Mosses, making them optimal in gameplay. The Big Psycho has the highest Attack out of all Level 1 green monsters, capping at 78; however, the Terastunner and Monopole have access to the Paralysis and Nutritious abilities, which may situationally be more enticing.
