The Aquachnid family is a group of spider-like aquatic monsters.

Aquachnids are aquatic monsters born from Water Lily Buds. They feed on water-based nutrients and launch gooey projectiles at heroes to slow them down. Like Omnoms, they can spawn unique monsters when they defeat heroes and take their mana. Like other water monsters, they cannot mutate.
Aquachnids can shoot goo on Heroes to slow them down, making them valuable allies in long corridors that allow them to make the best use of their shots. Aquachnids tend to do poorly outside of corridors due to their poor aim with goo: they can only shoot in cardinal directions and will often move to the side as if anticipating horizontal movement. Because their fertility is so high and they come from Level 1 Water Lily Buds, they can quickly populate the water and regenerate their numbers even while being attacked by heroes with support from the God of Destruction. This allows them to easily overwhelm Warrior-type Heroes alongside their water-based bretheren. While their Magic Resistance is often poor, Aristoquachnids have decent Magic Resistance and high HP despite their often early arrival into Badman's army, so they can still fight early-game Magician-type heroes if the situation demands it. If cornered, Aquachnids have a simple biting attack.
With mid-level dungeon IQ, if a hero approaches, Aquachnids will consume vitality to release a web of goo that floats in water and slows down heroes that touch it. While ineffective against magic-using heroes like Alchemists, they're very effective against Swordsmen, allowing for continued projectile use with their regular attacks. However, the Aquachnids may end up cornering themselves and consume too much vitality if it's done repeatedly, which can result in them being wiped out if the dungeon isn't set up properly.

Aquachnids are Level 2 blue monsters in the puzzle games; when combined, they make Level 3 red tiles featuring monsters such as Lizardmen. Due to lacking a fifth stage in the main series, they instead evolve from the Waterantula to the Aristoquachnid. The Aristoquachnid has 74 max Attack, equivalent with the Onandonandomnom; due to lacking special abilities, they can be seen as an easier to obtain version of the Insect family's Giant Breeds. Due to this, however, they are outclassed by the Leviathomnom, which has the highest Attack available.
